BEFORE
It is recommended to schedule your tan 1-3 days before your event. If you are interested in booking a trial appointment, please allow 2 weeks in-between your trial visit and actual event visit, so the old tan has time to completely exfoliate off your skin.
No. Since your airbrush tan is 100% customized based on your skin tone, desired look, and reason for visiting, your esthetician and/or certified airbrush tanning technician will complete your look in one appointment!
Shower, clean, and exfoliate your skin before your appointment. Do not use any products containing oils to cleanse your skin with. If you cannot find or do not have an oil-free product, you can use an exfoliating mitt, washcloth, or loofa with water. For best results, it is recommended to use exfoliating mitt.* Shaving can be done at this time, too.
After your shower, please DO NOT use any creams, lotions, or moisturizers containing petroleum-based oils, such as petroleum, mineral oil, or petrolatum - it will act as a barrier between your skin and the tan. It is not mandatory to use a cream, lotion, or moisturizer post-shower. However, if you have very dry skin, it is recommended to use a hydrating product (free of petroleum-based oils) since very dry skin can cause uneven development and fading. Any hair services that include a wash (blowout, cut, color, etc.) shouldn't be scheduled the same day as your airbrush tan appointment - unless they precede your tan. Nail, facial, laser treatment, or massage appointments should definitely be scheduled before your airbrush tan and any wax appointments should be scheduled at least the day before your tan appointment.
It is strongly recommended to receive approval from your doctor prior to booking. Having said that, we often spray pregnant and breastfeeding women. For women that are breastfeeding, please be prepared to wear a shirt/tank, strapless/sticky bra, or nipple covers during your appointment. A full list of ingredients in any of our solutions and skincare products are available upon request. Please contact.
No. They do not contain a sunscreen and do not protect against UV light/sunburn. The use of sunscreens are highly recommended. However, spray sunscreens and tanning oils are not suggested to be used as they will degrade your tan. Any cream, gel, or lotion sunscreen is fine.
Please call, text, or email with your name, phone number, and desired date/time of your airbrush tan! You can also book online through our website under Book.
The regular and rapid levels are equally customizable in color and derived from natural ingredients with antioxidants. The regular level is best for clients that want to sleep overnight in the bronzer and shower in the morning, or for those who are not able to shower 2-4 hours post application. The rapid level is best for clients that prefer to shower before bed, or have activities planned post application where they will need to sweat, apply makeup, or wear tighter fitting clothing. Keep in mind, that in most cases, the rapid level requires showering within a 2-4 hour window. Although the regular and rapid levels require different amounts of time to set, both need 24 hours to fully develop.
No need to stress about making a decision. The level can easily be adjusted at your appointment, regardless of which option you booked. Your technician will begin your appointment with a brief color consultation to establish the best tan for you.
DURING
A licensed esthetician and/or certified airbrush technician will greet you upon arrival. She will begin your appointment with a brief color consultation to establish the best option for you. This is based on your skin tone, desired look, and reason for airbrush tanning. The appointment takes about 20 minutes.
During your appointment, you may undress to your comfort level. Any clothing you choose to wear during your appointment (undergarments, bathing suit, tank top, shorts) can simply be put in the wash to remove any solution. Although the solution does not stain most fabrics, it is still recommended to wear dark-colored clothing during your service. Disposable thongs, bras, hair nets and ties, nose filters, earplugs, and eye protectors, are available.
After the application, have loose, dark-colored clothing to change back into. Again, the solution does not stain most fabrics, but it can rub-off and temporarily look unattractive on light-colored clothing. If you plan to sleep during the development of your tan, it is recommended to wear a long sleeve top and pants to bed. This is to prevent skin-to-skin contact, which could cause your tan to develop and set unevenly. If rain or snow are in the forecast, plan ahead by bringing an umbrella, hooded jacket, and closed-toed shoes to prevent water from damaging your airbrush tan.
The airbrush tanning solution, along with self-tanners contain the active ingredient Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). When applied to the skin, DHA reacts with the amino acids in the very top layer of the skin. This causes a “tan” result based on the amount of DHA that is applied. DHA is considered to be safe and has been FDA approved for external use. Disposable thongs, bras, hair nets and ties, nose filters, earplugs, and eye protectors, are available. Our solutions are 100% customizable, cruelty-free, odorless, fast-drying, and non-comedogenic (won't clog pores). They are formulated without fragrance, gluten, mineral oil, or parabens. Lastly, all colors contain naturally derived aloe vera and antioxidants to help keep skin hydrated and reduce the signs of aging.
AFTER
Of course! You will notice immediate color from the temporary bronzer that is used in the solution. The bronzer is used as guide to demonstrate how light or dark your color will develop later on. It also allows for the technician to see exactly where she is spraying. Your airbrush tan is fast-drying, allowing you to dress right after the application. Once it is time to shower, your bronzer rinses off.
You cannot shower, sweat, apply liquid makeup, or come into contact with any water until your airbrush tan has fully set. The Regular level takes 10-12 hours to set, and the Rapid level takes 2-4 hours to set. The color will fully develop in 24 hours regardless of the level. Your esthetician and/or airbrush tanning technician will recommend which level is best for you.
During showers, avoid any exfoliating products and items containing sulfates/surfactants, such as sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate, cocamphocarboxyglycinate, cocoamidopropyl betaine, alpha-Olefin sulfonate. These ingredients can be found in bar soaps, body scrubs, sugar scrubs, body washes, and shower gels. For best results, use Perfect Glow Body Wash* to cleanse your skin without affecting the color. After you have showered, be sure to keep your skin hydrated with body creams, lotions, or moisturizers. Hydrated skin will prolong the life of your airbrush tan and keep it from fading unevenly. Again, be sure to avoid petroleum-based ingredients, such as petroleum, mineral oil, and petrolatum. For best results, use Perfect Glow Tan Extend* to help fight uneven fading and lengthen the life of your color.
Try your best to keep showering, swimming, and/or sweating to a minimum. Any activity that causes your skin to become wet will cause your tan to fade quicker. For this reason, it’s best to shower only once a day for no more than 10 minutes. As you may know, very hot showers are not good for your skin, and therefore your tan, as they are very dehydrating. Keep in mind, shaving will cause exfoliation of the skin. While you have your airbrush tan, shave on a minimal bases with a new blade. It is also recommended to use Perfect Glow Tanning Mousse* and Perfect Glow Gradual Tan* to assist in extending the life of your airbrush tan.
